Mariachi's Tacos

I figured that a burrito is basic 'Mexican' cuisine and would be a safe bet at a new & untested spot. This burrito was excellent! The steak was tender, juicy & flavorful. The portion was very generous and well worth the price. An, of course, I had a horchata to wash it down. It was perfect, I could have had another!!!! Don't sleep on the chips & salsa!

I found a great Mexican restaurant! The best pozole in town!!! And their chilie sauce is THE BOMB! Pozole on Fridays and Saturdays!

If you’re near by and want to eat good but not the best Mexican food and won’t be disappointed ? That’s the place. Staff were very helpful and kind, place overall looks okay like most of that type of restaurants. Food: Nachos were fine Fajitas with chicken stake and shrimp were on of the best I’ve had Tacos- unfortunately not so great, meat was dry so I had to add lots of salsa to eat this and add some extra flavor Mix of grilled onions and jalapeños were delicious.

Mariachi’s Tacos has quickly become one of my go-to spots for authentic Mexican flavors without the fuss of a fancy sit-down experience. The menu is straightforward yet packed with punchy options like their carnitas tacos, which come loaded with tender, slow-cooked pork that’s crispy on the edges and melts in your mouth. The fresh cilantro, onions, and house-made salsa add just the right kick, and I appreciate how they use corn tortillas that don’t fall apart mid-bite. Service is friendly and efficient, especially during lunch rushes, and the prices are reasonable for the quality—around $3-4 per taco. It’s not the most glamorous setting, with basic outdoor seating that can get crowded, but the vibrant atmosphere makes up for it. That said, while most visits hit the mark, there have been a couple of inconsistencies that keep it from five stars. On one occasion, the al pastor was a bit dry, lacking the juicy pineapple marinade I’d hoped for, and the wait time crept up during peak hours without much apology from the staff. Still, these are minor quibbles in an otherwise solid operation. If you’re in the mood for reliable street-style tacos with a mariachi vibe echoing in the background music, this place delivers a satisfying experience that’s worth the detour.

Mariachi’s Tacos in Des Plaines is as authentic as it gets! ???????? From the vibe, décor, and music—you feel like you’ve stepped straight into Mexico. I loved it. The specials were clear and easy to read, which made ordering simple and stress-free. The food was delicious, and the service honestly felt like home—warm, welcoming, and genuine. Highly recommend stopping by, especially during lunch. The specials are amazing and make it a great value. Definitely worth giving a shot!

Nice cozy small restaurant. The chips and salsa were ok...really liked the tostada t he tong taco was nice and juice but the cacio taco was dry. Not a lot of flavor or the flavors i am accostumed in Mexican food. All an all I am visiting....
